Expats must carry health card for healthcare services

There was a confusion earlier about expatriates availing primary healthcare using the Qatari ID instead of a health card.
The Primary Healthcare Corporation (PHCC) has clarified that the decision to make its services available to patients through Qatari ID cards will be applicable to only Qataris in the initial phase.
“At this stage only Qataris will benefit from this measure which is already implemented in West Bay Health Center but it will be expanded to others,” the PHCC said.
PHCC confirmed that the move comes ahead of plans to expand the National Insurance Scheme- Seha- to primary health centers, reports The Peninsula.
The scheme has allowed its Qatari beneficiaries to seek treatment at facilities included in the Seha network using Qatari ID cards.
