Expat to serve jail term for beating neighbour’s son
A Doha criminal court has sentenced a Syrian expatriate man to one month in jail and imposed a fine of QR3,000 for beating his neighbour's son.
According to Gulf Times, the local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the defendant was accused of beating the child after a dispute between children while playing.
The father of the victim took photos on his mobile phone of the man beating his son and causing him some mild injuries and submitted them to the police along with a complaint.
The child was also taken to the hospital which confirmed the physical assault on him.
However, the defendant denied beating the child and said that the injuries might have been caused when the child fell on the ground while playing. Yet, the court convicted him based on the police report and the submitted evidences.
what a super hero .... beating a child !! just send him back to syria he can play hero there .
Yeah, right. He should also get 30 lashes on each day of his jail term.
WTH?! that's it? I think the penalty is too small. maybe make it a little bigger so he will not REPEAT again.
Well done to the courts.
