A criminal court sentenced an Asian woman to one year in jail for selling a forged visa to another woman and ordered her deportation after she completes her term.

The convict sold the forged visa at QR6,000 to a woman in another country who was looking for a job in Qatar. The convict had sent the doctored visa documents to the woman by email.

She took an employment visa issued for a company and tempered it, said a report submitted by the Economic Crimes Combating Unit at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) during the trial, The Peninsula reports.

She replaced the data in the original visa with personal details of the victim and sent it to her.

The victim transferred QR2,000 to the convict through an exchange house apparently as the first installment. She also mailed her passport copy, said the report.

To convince the victim, the convict created a fake email ID on hotmail as general manager of the said company.

The Qatari embassy in the country concerned also confirmed the fraud in a letter to the Public Prosecution.

The embassy said the visa had been forged and it was originally issued for another person, also an Asian. It also confirmed that the victim had sent money for the visa. The convict denied the allegations in the court. [The Peninsula]

Some mistakes are circumstantial ............. not intentionally from the heart ........... if the person realizes then it is more than punishment .......

Good riddance to this bad rubbish. These people are thieves and scammers and should be deported immediately for breaking the law and preying upon innocent people.

I hope this is the beginning of a crackdown on these horrible people.
