Ever wondered what the structure on the way to The Pearl-Qatar is?
If you pass through West Bay area onto the Pearl Qatar, you may have seen a mega structure being built on the left side of the road, where the Arch Roundabout used to stand.
If you ever wondered what it might be, then here is your answer. It is the Al Wahda Arches project, which is going to be an iconic landmark once completed.
As part of Lusail Expressway, the former Arch roundabout is being converted into a three-level interchange including a dual three-lane underpass from Al Dafna area to Lusail, reported The Peninsula.
The interchange will comprise a single point entryway at the ground level (for Arch traffic) and a three-lane directional link at level 1 (from Lusail Expressway to Central Business district).
The project will also feature iconic landmarks.
Eversendai Qatar, who are in charge of building the arch, says that the bigger arch will be 146.52M in length and stand at a height of 98.79M. The smaller arch will be 139.84M long and have a maximum height of 77.56M.
Are you excited to see how the finished product will look like?
