Emiri Diwan declares Sunday as official holiday for Qatar National Day

The usual parades and activities may be missing, but people will still get to enjoy another day off from work after the Emiri Diwan declared December 18, Sunday, to be an official holiday.
All government offices will remain shut and will formally open for business again on December 19, Monday.
Qatar National Day is celebrated to commemorate the day in 1878, when Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani unified the country’s different tribes into a unified force.
HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani cancelled all Qatar National Day celebrations this year as a mark of solidarity with the suffering of people in Aleppo, Syria.
The move came in for a lot of praise from all quarters around the world. Qatar Living wishes all of you a happy Qatar National Day in advance. Be safe and enjoy the long weekend break!
We are proud of this and grateful for the day off
