Drivers relieved as Civil Station Intersection opens after works

Qatar’s citizens have heaved a collective sigh of relief after the Civil Station Intersection was opened to motorists following a period of closure.

The area, which formerly had a roundabout, has now been converted into a signalled intersection. It could not have come at a better time as traffic is expected to pick up significantly following reopening of schools on Sunday.

The number of lanes each way has gone up to four (from three) while utilities including including power, sewerage and drainage lines have been relocated.

The people of Qatar are hoping that the lengthy delays that were always felt at the Civil Station Roundabout will soon fade into a distant memory.
