
Doha Metro suspends preview service during the weekend

According to an announcement by Qatar Rail, in view of precautionary measures taken all over the country, Doha Metro preview service will be suspended from March 12, Thursday from 10:00 pm.
The service will resume on March 15, Sunday from 6:00 am.
Doha Metro currently operates three lines. It began its operations in May last year with the Red Line, followed by the opening of the Gold Line in November. The newest line to be operational on the Doha Metro network is the Green Line, which was opened to the public last month.
Metro users can interchange between Red Line, Gold Line, and Green Line at Musheireb station.
Rides cost QAR 2 for a single journey and QAR 6 for a day pass (Standard) while those traveling the Goldclub class will be charged QAR 10 and QAR 30, respectively for Travelcard users.
The fee for acquiring a Standard Travelcard is QAR 10 while the Goldclub card costs QAR 100 (valid for five years from the date of purchase); credits for travel have to be added on to these cards. Children aged below five can travel for free.
