Dead whale removed from Al Arish beach
The General Cleanliness Project, in coordination with Al Shamal Municipality and the Ministry of Environment, removed a dead whale from Al Arish Beach last Thursday.
This is not the first time larger marine animals like whales and dolphins have washed up at Qatar's shores. In September last year, the Municipality removed dead remains of a dolphin from Al Wakra beach.
Qatar Living posted another article on a similar issue in January this year after a QLer reported seeing a dead dolphin and sea turtle at an overly-littered Al Roidha beach.
The municipality has been continuously appealing to people who frequent beaches and islands not to litter or throw waste that harm the marine environment and distort the public scene.
The MMUP has been conducting intensive cleaning campaigns at different beaches of the country since last year.
The cleaning campaigns so far have covered Al Wakra Port, Al Shamal, Al Salfiya Island, Doha Marriott beach and Ras Abu Fontas beach.

It was love at first bite. :)
,,, mistaken her for a whale because of her enormous size. Is that what you wanted to say? I bet you've loved every bit of her.
I recall my Cuban Shotputter sunbathing on Wakra beach when the MMUP turned up :(
