COVID-19 bubble system can help contain the virus: MoPH

Qatar has been doing everything within its capacity to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has been urging the public to follow the recommended preventive and precautionary measures to protect themselves against the virus.
From Friday, March 26, Qatar will see the reescalation of additional restrictions to contain COVID-19, the Cabinet had announced yesterday.
The presence of new strains of the virus from South Africa and the UK have led to greater transmission of the virus, it was highlighted at a Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) press conference also held last night.
Officials urged everyone to do their part in following the new restrictions as well as all the preventive measures.
If each one of us takes responsibility and acts appropriately over the next two to three weeks, we can cut this virus off and begin to see a big decline in cases, Chair of the National Health Strategic Group on COVID-19 and Head of Infectious Diseases at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Dr Abdullatif Al Khal had emphasized.
Today, in a post on Twitter, Dr Al Khal explained the concept of a COVID-19 bubble system.
The concept of applying a COVID-19 bubble system is when a group of people that frequently meets in limited numbers does not come into contact with members of other families or groups as much as possible. pic.twitter.com/TNAuHKN2Lv

A COVID-19 bubble system is “when a group of people that frequently meets in limited numbers does not come into contact with members of other families or groups as much as possible.”
“If families and group of friends manage to maintain these bubbles, then we will be able to contain the virus,” Dr Al Khal underlined.
Friends who meet more often can also make use of this system “so that their number remains limited and fixed and they don’t come into contact with other people,” the post states.
