Court acquits expat saleswoman of theft charges
The Misdemeanour Court has acquitted an Arab expatriate saleswoman of theft charges. The manager of the shop, where the defendant used to work, had accused her of stealing some money from the shop.
According to Gulf Times, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that an investigation revealed that the employee had asked for a pay hike, after working at the shop on the same salary for four years, or be allowed to work for another company by giving her a no-objection certificate.
The employer, however, did not to agree to meet any of her demands. She then submitted her resignation and asked to be allowed to return to her home country.
In response, the employer made matters difficult for the woman by accusing her of stealing money from the shop.
However, as there was no evidence to prove this claim, the woman was acquitted.
The court also directed the employer to pay the woman the due amount for the remaining period of her employment contract and allow her to leave the country as she wished.
Why was the employer not punished for lodging a false claim? It will repeat the same thing again with someone else.
The girl is like forced to work when she didn't to anymore. That company should pay her even more and get penalized as well.
poor girl, the employer need to punished first.
If the government would make examples of a few, then others will start behaving
surprise...!!!!!!! there should be a law against Conspiracy, trapping into unconnected cases and disgrace the image of innocent.
That would be justice, brit, but it doesn't exist in the "Justice" system of Qatar!
What ?
What about prosecuting the employer for lying and trying intimidate the poor woman
