Cosmetics outlet found changing expiry dates on products

A cosmetics shop has been found tampering the expiry dates on the packages of products.
The matter came to light during a raid by law-enforcement officers of the Consumer Protection Department (CPD) at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
After receiving information from a government entity, the officers, in co-operation with security entities concerned, carried out a raid on the shop’s storehouse and detected the manipulation.
A search and inspection revealed that the shop’s staff had dumped the original packages in a garbage container and replaced them with new ones with fake expiry dates. Some 7,200 such packages were seized.
When questioned by CPD officers, the manager-in-charge of the outlet admitted that he had instructed his employees to do so. The matter is under further investigation.
The name of this shop has not been revealed yet, but might be published on the Ministry website after the pending investigations.
