Baladiya takes action against illegal practices followed by certain businesses
It’s not easy to run a business in Qatar. Many times we have heard about shops and outlets being shut down due to poor hygienic conditions and for not following the rules issued by the State.
It has been reported that around 85 stores (mainly eateries and food outlets) have been closed down last year in the Industrial Area alone for violation of various health conditions.
This year, the country witnessed famous fast food outlets and restaurants in luxury hotels being shut down due to lack of hygiene and not fulfilling the standards expected by the Government.
Furthermore, Doha News reports that the official website of Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) claims that it has now shut down the Al-Rayyan branch of the popular Egyptian chain of restaurants, Al-Gad,
This hasn’t been limited only to food outlets as recently, according to the Qatar News Agency, officials and inspectors from the Municipality sealed some beauty salons for unhygienic conditions.
Also, the online news portal further reported that around 199 violations related to food, 417 related to building rules and 233 related to public cleaning were also registered.
This strict scanning of violations regard to consumer goods have even made some products to be banned from the shelves of stores and super markets.
From instant juice mix to the recent Nicotine Gum as per the reports of Doha News have been temporarily removed from shops.
Meanwhile according to The Peninsula, Al Rayyan Municipality has launched an inspection to remove illegal advertisements placed randomly in Rawdat Al Iqdim, Bani Hajar and Thamid.
Also, violators will be booked under Law No. 1 of 2015 for regulating advertisements, executive regulations and ministerial decisions issued to curb illegal advertisements.

I agree 100% with britexpat, this has to stop and to be honest, it boils down to education, at least it strengthens your common sense.
Good move, make them pay, let them know not to break rules and laws.
Not a very good move. Simply a technique to raise fund by imposing fine for each and everything
Good move. Too many focus on profit and less on compliance
yes go after them qatar...find every kind of violator and set them straight...do not spare anyone...these people have had it their way for too long at the country's expense...make everyone accountable, none above the law...and watch qatar shine...
