Bakery closed, named and put to shame

The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has begun naming and shaming eating outlets that are found violating health and safety rules.

The Ministry has on its website named a restaurant in Al Wakra where its inspectors found fried items that were not fit for human consumption.

The Ministry gave the name of the erring outlet as Manama Bakery located on Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Jassem Street in Al Wakra South.

The raid was conducted on April 15 by inspectors of Al Wakra Municipality.

The outlet has been ordered by Al Wakra Municipality to be closed for three weeks beginning from last Sunday.

This is the first time the Ministry has named an erring outlet after a new law (Number 4 of 2014) was passed recently authorising it and other Ministries to name and shame outlets found violating health and safety rules.

i believe Qatar municipality is doing great Job, they should be giving such surprise visits to every restaurants in Qatar to avoid such malicious and unhygienic food, if caught they should be warned for bypassing Norms and they should be giving second chance for improvement. in my opinion everyone deserves second change.

GREAT WORK QATAR

@Pirate, bill is paid QR 78/- already for 3 persons, me, wife & daughter, then only the token # is called when the so called food was ready.

@Box, it was around half past ten in the night, where to call balladiya at that time ? more over lodging a complaint was not my motive to ruin their business, I still have pictures taken in my mobile, atleast some one resposible guy could have redressed my complaint, not even one from their end, its how they treat their valued customers, this is what business when they are at peak.

@pirate, I threw it on the cashiers face, its a disgrace for the well known popular south indian restaurants, some third rated guys are running the restaurants tarnishing the image of reputed chain of hotels in India. I didnt wish to create a scene there cause my family was there, plus many others were busy in swallowing their tasty foods.

Last month, Saravanabhavan restaurant in Safari mall served me sambar dish floating with dead insect, when I complained to the cashier he said wait until manager to come, for more than 20 min. no one responded back and till date not a word of sorry from these stupid management. As Ravi said, they are after money and not on hygeine or public health.

closing the restaurant for three weeks is not enough, the outlet should be closed for good, and the sponsor should be banned from obtaining a restaurant license in the future and the fine should exceed 100,000 QR, this is the only way for restaurant to respect the health and safety measures.

and the best way to be in a safe side is to eat at home, the meal prices are going crazy outside

most of the restaurants think only of their income & not the healthiness of the food that's been served. Also, hygiene is not their motto. They do not know how to keep clean even with glows on.

Good initiatives. it seems that new strategy has emerged where people will know in future which outlets has violated safety regulation. it will damage their reputation and other outlets will be alert.
