
Autumnal Equinox to take place on September 23

The September Equinox, also known as Autumnal or Autumn Equinox, is set to take place later this month.
The Qatar Meteorology Department said Autumnal Equinox is on September 23 at 05.29am, after which the hours of darkness increase and of daylight decrease.
Temperature drops and the weather changes with precipitation in the form of light rain are expected in early October.
According to QMD, the shortest day and the longest night mark the beginning of winter (Winter Solstice) occurring this year on December 21 at 02.03am.
Occurring annually between these two periods is the Wasm (when truffles or faqaa may be germinated). This period extends from the first half of October to the first half of December when rainfall could be the maximum.
