Almost 120 private schools seek tuition fee hike during 2017-18 academic year
In a move that will likely give heartburn to parents who send children to school in Qatar, as many as 120 educational institutions have approached the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to increase fees for the 2017-18 academic year.
The Ministry is expected to announce its final decision next month, reported Gulf Times.
Schools in the country are classified into three categories based on their quality of providing educational services. The ministry had asked schools to apply online for fee hikes in December and 120 schools have done so.
Applicant schools should support their claims for need to hike fees with valid documentation. The ministry is expected to remain firm and accept fee hike requests only where absolutely necessary.
@ExQat, salaries of the parents sending kids to School does not hike every year. Grievances of Salaried Parent s to co-op with yearly hike in the fees. The Authorities must consider this point before approving school's request.
Why not find a way to make money for yourself, invest your money in these institutes , talk to the management ask for the entry as a partner ..... ? ...... What for are all the people here ...... if not for money ? ....
As per my experience they raise the Tuition Fee QAR 3000+ each year per child and it doesn't make any sense as I cannot find any value added. This is just plain extortion.
One should not forget that prices for rent, transport, and other goods have also gone up. What doesn't keep pace with the general development are salaries. This is the real problem. Good teachers cost money!
True, most schools are just money-making institutions hardly. Education has now become commercialized.
Most schools are money making private institutions - they want to increase their profit margins
