All passengers of Qatar Airways Istanbul flight safe after emergency landing
It has only been a few days since an Emirates flight, originating from Trivandrum in Kerala, caught fire upon landing at the Dubai airport.
Although not as serious, a Qatar Airways flight had to make an emergency landing at Istanbul’s Ataturk airport after its landing gear failed to retract on take-off, according to an airport official. The flight landed safely and all passengers are reported safe.
“The QR240 flight from Istanbul Ataturk Airport to Doha has returned to Istanbul and has landed safely. The passengers have disembarked as normal. The pilot followed all QR safety procedures,” said a statement by the Gulf carrier.
However, there were other reports that stated that one of the plane’s engines had caught fire.
Video footage showed flames spitting out of the left engine of the Airbus 330 as it prepared to land at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.
Qatar Airways issued a statement to The Associated Press saying that "all 298 passengers and 14 crew disembarked normally." However, local Turkish news agencies reported one woman on board was hospitalized after suffering a fainting spell.
Chan is absolutely right ..................
Well done to the crew .. Many reports say that the plane had a bird strike and the engine caught fire
That's why we fly with QA without any fear.
This shows the professional approach taken by the pilot , with his staff's skills everything was under control ........ It's all okay now ............ it's resolved .............
