There could possibly be no better time to have a family outing in Qatar as more and more public parks are opening up almost on a monthly basis.

Another park has joined the long list of public picnic spots in the country, this time at the Al Khor and Al Thakhira municipality.

The Al Kaaban Park at Al Kaaban city was officially opened yesterday, reported Gulf Times.

The Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment opened the park, spread over 10,693sqm, amid much fanfare, reported The Peninsula.

The family park has sunshades and rubber flooring in the playgrounds. It boasts of a fountain, walking trails and is also constantly monitored by closed circuit cameras, improving its security manifold.

“Our department is striving to make Qatar a green oasis,” said Mohammed Ali Al Khouri, Director of Public Parks at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.

Qatar Tribune reported that the park will soon start to provide visitors with free access to fast Wi-Fi Internet service.
