100 Dammam bound passengers stranded in Doha due to aircraft malfunction
About 100 passengers of a Dammam-bound Air India Express (IX 381/382) flight from Kozhikode in Kerala were stranded in Doha yesterday after the aircraft developed a ‘technical snag,’ sources said.
Gulf Times reports that a passenger said that the plane, which left Kozhikode around noon Indian time, reached Doha by 2pm, but could not continue its onward journey to Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
It is learnt that the passengers were moved to hotels in Doha by the airline’s Doha office.
Some technicians are expected from Mumbai to carry out the necessary maintenance. If everything goes well, the plane will resume its journey before noon today.
domestic flights used for international destinations..........with low quality service, Broken seats and even Tv monitors coming off
they should change their name now
Good call by the Captain and good job by the airlines to provide them with a place to stay. At least in this age of disasters on the aviation industry, this pilot decided to do it safe and consider passenger safety first.
