MOCI announces discounts on more than 800 items for Ramadan

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has released a list of discounted consumer goods during this year’s holy month of Ramadan.
The list features more than 800 products that will be available in various major consumer outlets from Wednesday, March 23, until the end of Ramadan.
According to MOCI, the annual initiative is part of the ongoing commitment to making consumer goods more available at reduced prices during the holy month, when the demand for consumer goods increases substantially.
The consumer goods discounted during Ramadan include all the essential commodities such as flour, sugar, rice, pasta, chicken, cooking oil, milk, and other food commodities, as well as non-food products like tissue paper, aluminum foil, detergents, washing powders, and other products of significant importance or frequently used during the holy month.

According to the MOCI, the established prices need to be adhered to until the end of Ramadan. It also stated it would intensify its campaign of inspections to detect violators and forward them to the competent authorities for appropriate action to safeguard consumers' rights.
The ministry also urged the community to report any price violations through its communication channels.
