Why this Cola-veri, Cola-veri di?

By Pirate Of The A... •
For decades, Indian music and movies have been ridiculed for often being ‘inspired’ by Hollywood/South Korean/Japanese productions.
But a song from Numma Chennai — actor Dhanush’s ‘Why this Kolaveri di’ from the movie 3 — rewrote all those rules three years ago.
The song, written in a few minutes without much prior planning, keeps on giving back.
The most recent example was an ad for Coco Cola, in Turkey, which not only recreated the tune, but also the scenes for the song.
In 2013, Turkish pop music Sertab Erener lifted the song as ‘Soz’ (Turkish: Promise) for her “Sade” album in 2013, with lyrics written by Nil Karaibrahimgil.
Stand up and make us proud, Dhanush!
