I saw Fast and Furious 7 one-and-a-half times.
The first was on the night of April 1, when one of the worst-ever sandstorms Qatar has ever seen hit the country. Was it nature’s way of grieving Paul Walker’s untimely death?
Running fast out of the theatre in Villaggio, with smoke alarms going left, right and centre, into the heart of nature’s fury… it’ll forever define the franchisee for me.
Furious 7 is easily the biggest and most badass installment in the franchisee’s nearly 1.5-decade-long journey.
The characters seem to have evolved nicely, some die while one or two others make brief appearances. A totally new character, a secret service agent played by Kurt Russell, is introduced and he will undoubtedly lead the franchisee forward (as suggested by Vin Diesel himself).
Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the brother of a villain who was killed in Fast and Furious 6, targets Dominic Torretto (Diesel), Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and the rest of the ‘family.’
To find Shaw, Dom cuts a deal with a special agent (Russell). The deal? He has to recover some spy software (and the hacker who made it) that has been stolen by a terrorist (Djimon Hounsou) and his gang.
They do that in spectacular fashion and the action simply gets more stunning and unbelievable.
While one has to leave their brains behind, the franchisee works because of the intense chemistry between its characters. The ‘family’ is indeed rocking even after 14 years on screen.
There is always an inevitable feeling at the back of your mind about how Walker’s real life death would be written into the story. I should say it’s very beautifully done. It’s poignant and by the end of it, you’ll definitely have a tear or two in your eyes. That’s quite something for a movie like Furious 7 to achieve.
Jason Statham as the villain is absolutely well cast. He drips menace and does his job with a vengeance. Even though there’s a lot of CGI used, there’s also some charming old world stunts. And that is among the movie’s biggest pluses.
All in all, this has been the movie I’ve been waiting for since like forever. And I’m glad it’s everything I dreamed it would be and much more.
Verdict: Ditch the streams and torrents, this movie has to be seen in the big screen to be believed. For the first time since I started reviewing movies, it’s a 10 out of 10.
how is the picture ?
how much is Furious7 IMAX ticket?

hey Pirate i think the movie in 2022 would be called " the Slow and the curious"...
Aye aye sir!
Saw it last night and enjoyed it. Proof that James Wan can direct other features that are not of the horror genre.
Didn't you know they've already announced it? It's tentatively titled 'Soft and the serious : The Wheelchair wars"...
they might even put a v8 on a wheel chair if this keeps up :P .
I'm waiting for F&F 22 with geriatrics and wheel chairs
Can't complain if they did. It's a circle. Without the returns, they wouldn't have been able to bring out more in the series. And without more films in the series, we wouldn't have loved watching them.
guess they went for the money huh !
In the series's defence, I think they reinvented the whole thing brilliantly. Car racing is fun, but there's only so much that can be developed around the premise. There was a huge demand for more from the family and the only way that could be done was by taking different routes.
In the case of superhero movies, sustaining the base tone of the movies is fine because there's a rich history of villain characters to fall back to (most of them were developed over decades). But for a franchisee like FF to survive, the only way was to tread different paths while not banning fast cars altogether. I think they did it well. In my humble opinion.
Thanks for writing, it's so good to make this a dialogue rather than a monologue. :-)
and the last scene just made me really sad. almost a tear came out :( . rip paul .
it aint about cars or the street racing scene anymore . i mean f&f 01 and 02 and maybe tokyo drift , those were fun and believable . it felt like an another expendables movie . just my opinion .
K200. why were you disappointed?
I saw the film and im really dissapointed . its a 5/10 in my book .
There was so much dust Tgat my eyes started watering at the end of the film :0(
where they were trying to get the hacker and God's eye so they can hunt shaw while shaw was attacking them and still they were concentrated more on the job
that was the flaw. and the replacement of paul walker looked like a guy out of an animation even though they could have done a lot better i mean it has been done before
So where do you deduct the .5 marks? I thought it was flawless...
No doubt best installment till now
9.5/10
