Qatar gears up to mark National Sport Day
Government organisations and private companies are set for biggest National Sport Day (NSD) celebration tomorrow.
While most companies have geared up for a big bash, others started sport activities last week in the run-up to the main event.
Highlights of tomorrow’s events are a sport walk on the Corniche and traditional Al Shawahef rowing championship with a prize of QR4m.
While the Sport Zone is the main hub of celebrations, Aspire, The Pearl Qatar, Souq Waqif and Katara will also witness sport-related activities. Katara will host over 83 activities for all ages.
Events will start at 7am tomorrow and run until 3am the next day. They include a family marathon relay race, yoga for women, squash, soccer and tennis, among others.
The Ministry of Transport and its stakeholders will come together for a day of activities for children and adults such as beach volleyball, relay race and sack race, among others.
