You have to assess your Cholesterol by comparing the ratio of HDL (high density lipids) to LDL (low density lipids). HDL is good LDL is bad, but the ratio is the most important. The correct range depends on your sex and age speak to a good doctor for advice on your range - DO NOT JUST TAKE THE OVERALL FIGURE.

Try to raise your HDL (hard) and lower your LDL (easier) by good diet, moderate regular exercise and reduce alcohol intake. This will improve your cardiovascular system anyway and reduce blood pressure which will in turn reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

Good luck, avoid medication unless things are desperate.

You can help lower your cholesterol by eating oatmeal in the morning for breakfast, limit the amount of red meat in your diet, and watch the saturated fats.

As far as how to use flax seed...we grind them with a spice/coffee grinder and add them to fruit smoothies, sprinkle them over cereals/oatmeal or salads. They taste very good. Over here they are evidently called linseed.

You can use flaxseed oil also...a teaspoon is considered a serving and it makes a very nice oil for used on salads.

U have to go to a doctor to make a clinical chemistry report for ur blood, after that u will be given the right tablets, then the doctor according to the analysis will guide u to the right things to eat, there r lot of sites and also ppl experiance but shorten the way by going too a doctor.
