Evolve: Take care of your mind, body and soul

Evolve: Take care of your mind, body and soul

How are you sitting right this moment? Are you sitting at your desk at work (if yes, shouldn’t you be doing work instead of reading this article?)? Or are you at home? Or somewhere else? Pause for a moment and look at your posture. Is your back straight? What about your shoulders? How’s your neck?

Our (bad) posture can have serious consequences on our well-being on the long run. We spend never-ending hours at work, at university, at school, neglecting our body and our health, unaware of the chronic damage we are inflicting on ourselves. This is where Evolve comes in.

Evolve is a wellness company that focuses on the well-being of individuals, tackling the different sides of the fitness world. Incorporating a holistic approach, Evolve educates and provides its clients with the necessary tools to understand their body and take care of it.

Established in London in 2014, Evolve started off as a food and fitness company. The founder, Haitham Khalid, who previously (in another life) was a chef for ten years, envisioned a wellness company that would help people in both the fitness and nutrition sides. However, after evolving and moving to Qatar, the company shifted its focus to the fitness aspect of wellness, catering to the demands of the masses.

Once it moved to Qatar, Evolve tailored its services to the local wellness awareness and education. The assessment of the industry here led the company to pull things back down to a basic level, targeting the core of the issue in question. The team cares about their clients being well inside and out, targeting the “mind, body and soul.”

Evolve values the experience their clients go through, making sure they embark on a journey that will help them for the rest of their lives. The company created an ecosystem with multifaceted services that provide clients with personalized treatments to ensure a positive and lasting impact. A client can seek specific services going in, but can leave the company equipped with tools and knowledge he/she never knew needed.

After moving to Qatar, the company started branching out and creating different departments, employing different skilled practitioners from all fitness sides. Evolve’s (growing) team consists of personal trainers, martial arts experts, biomechanics, nutritionists and so on. Their services range from one-to-one personal training sessions to company visits.

Mhew aka “the human mechanic,” a physiologist and Pilates instructor at Evolve, values her job because she gets to see the positive change her clients go through. She joined the company almost a year ago, after being a physiotherapist for seven years back in Thailand. “Not a lot of jobs give you the experience and opportunity of having a client come in a wheelchair and leave walking,” she says. Mhew started doing research on chronic back, neck and shoulder pain when she experienced it herself. She decided to join a Pilates class, which helped her be aware of her body and posture, making her physically stronger. Wanting to give back and share her knowledge, she studied and became a Pilates instructor. “Preventing is better than rehabilitation,” she states.

Evolve focuses on creating positive change in the community. Their team works with kids as well as adults. They hold workshops, seminars, wellness programs, events for families and so on. A client going through positive changes and getting apparent results can impact his/her entourage, which is part of the education and awareness Evolve works towards.

Evolve doesn’t have its own location at the time. The team operates at spas, hotels, companies, and so on. For more information, check out their website.

Thank you Haitham, Mhew and Evolve for saving (and having) our backs! The Qatar Living team will now be stretching at least once a day.
