The 17th edition of the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition concludes
The 17th edition of the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) featured internationally recognizable names alongside niche artisanal brands, providing a forum for consumers of all tastes to experience luxury, design, and exquisite craftsmanship.
DJWE 2020 had an exclusive section for the “Young Qatari Designers” which showcased their collections alongside famous luxury brands. Eighteen talented designers joined in this edition. New participants included: H Jewellery, Kaltham’s Pavilion, Camelot Jewellery, Clair De Lune Jewellery, and Letters Passion Arts, while brands Trifoglio, Ghada Albuainain Jewellery, NoufJewellery, Ghand Jewellery, Leila Issam Fine Jewellery, Hairaat Fine Jewellery, Sarah’s & Co, AlGhala Jewellery, Hessa Jewels, Midad Jewellery, and Thameen Jewellery returned for the fourth year.
With a record 129 exhibitors this year, marking a 68% growth, organizers added a 3,000 sqm luxury zone with 45 exhibitors.
This year’s event saw a return of the popular Indian Pavilion, organized by GJEPC, and inaugural of Turkish Pavilion, bringing the jewellery traditions of the two countries to Qatar under one roof.
The Indian Pavilion featured 28 exhibitors showcasing a range of studded jewellery adorned with rubies, emeralds, sapphires and pearls; handmade pieces catering to the Middle East market, and a wide range of European and Middle Eastern-inspired contemporary jewellery.
The Turkish Pavilion featured 11 exhibitors such as Lida Diamond & Jewellery, Amor, Gezer, Mehmet Cumbus, and Masgold, which sold intricately designed hand-made ‘shawl’ jewellery in 18 and 21 karat gold.
In addition to the array of jewellery and watches available for purchase, the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition also hosted a series of workshops to educate buyers and aficionados on how to evaluate, identify and care for products.
