Tips for working mothers FROM Qatar Living’s working mothers
By : Fazmina Samat
Being a working mother comes with its own set of challenges, but it’s also a rewarding journey filled with growth and accomplishments. This Mother’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate the unsung superheroes of our lives – working mothers! At Qatar Living, we’re honored to have a squad of multitasking experts who ace their roles in both work and family life. In celebration of Mother’s Day, we’ve gathered valuable tips from our dynamic team of working moms who prove that YOU CAN DO IT ALL with instincts and skills.
Here are their pearls of wisdom for thriving as a working mother.
Prioritize and plan
Nancy Ghanem, our beautiful Sales Manager advises, “Plan your tasks for the day and prioritize them based on importance. Be familiar with to-do lists, calendars and scheduling apps to stay organized. This helps you manage both work and family responsibilities effectively.”
Flexibility is key
Dipti Nair, our spirited Content Writer & Researcher, emphasizes that “One should not hesitate to delegate tasks at home and at work. Get help from family members who can pitch in with household chores, or consider outsourcing help. Similarly, at work, your colleagues can help with work responsibilities”
Utilize technology
Veena Choube, our dedicated Software Engineer suggests, “Get the optimum use of technology to stay organized. Use productive apps for streamlining your daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and use the correct communication tools to stay connected with your colleagues.”
Set boundaries
Lorna Gracia, our seasoned Admin Manager stresses, “Have boundaries between home and work life to avoid burnout! Be clear with work hours and make quality time for family without distractions. Taking care of your mental health is crucial for maintaining balance and well-being”
Self-care matters
Sweta Tripathi, our dedicated Human Resources Coordinator advises, “Don’t forget to take care of yourself. Schedule ‘Me time’ for self-care activities. Engage in some exercise, reading, relaxing, socializing or pursuing any hobbies.”
Support network
Maryam Hawatmeh, our compassionate Human Resources Manager highlights, “It is important to stay connected with other working mothers for support, advice and encouragement. Don’t strive for perfection. Understand that there will be good and bad days, be kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned.”
Meal planning for the win
Roopal Radhakrishnan, our friendly QL Jobs Coordinator suggests to, “Create a weekly meal plan and involve your family to pitch in with their ideas. Planning meals ahead of time and shopping online for delivery or pick up, saves you time during busy weekdays”
Be present
Sujana Kakumani, our creative UI/UX Designer advises, “When you’re with your family, be fully present. Put away distractions like phones and focus on quality time with your family.”
Flexible work arrangements
Ismat Zerin, our friendly Content Creator states to “Try to negotiate flexible work arrangements with your employer, if it permits. This could include remote working, flexible hours or compressed workweeks, depending on your workplace policies.”
Practice gratitude daily
Meriem Jaibi, our lovely Classifieds and Services Coordinator advises to, “Take a moment every day to reflect on the things you’re grateful for, whether it’s a loving family, supportive colleagues or small moments of joy. Getting into this feeling of gratitude can help you stay positive and resilient, even during the hard times”
And to wrap it up, as a fellow working mom as a Content Writer & Researcher, I would say to all working mothers who read this, “Remember you’re not just a working mom, you’re a superwoman juggling multiple roles with style. So celebrate your wins, big or small and never forget how amazing you truly are!”
