UK TV in Qatar

Hi, does Qatar have any UK TV programmes? And by TV, I mean television.

If so, is there a specific cable/satellite package I will need?

Also, whilst I am on the subject, I would like high-speed broadband (would I necessarily need a phone line? Not always the case in UK if it is cable), mobile phone (QTEL has been said to be the best???) and television.

Do people offer this as a package deal and if so, how good? And do they have films (movies)?

Thanks y'all!

Get a VPN ( I use StrongVPN) download BBCiPlayer, SkyGo, plus you can access Channel 4, Channel 5 and ITV player - all FOC! Everything is reliant on a good connection otherwise you can download rather than stream. I've used this system in China, Italy, Abu Dhabi and now will be using in Qatar also!

I think those of us who have commented that we have osn and have English channels would know we have English channels..If you don't know about osn and English channels why comment you don't think they have English channels..Just doesn't make sense!

Sorry mates, I dont actually know much abouyt OSN. I dont think they do have UK TV channels in their packages. Have they?

I use this 'start uk tv' software to stream live TV channels and 'www.thebox.bz' to download programmes. Ta!

I watch UK channels, well BBC TV, ITV, Demand 5 etc on my laptop. As you all know you cant watch any of these channels outside the UK BUT Ive got a software for that. Its fantastic! Only problem is though, the internet speed isnt enough. BBC channels work fine but for ITV etc, you gotta give 10 mins pause and then play it, yet not bad, just to catch up with back home stuff like adverts etc.

The only descent English programme I watch on OSN is Corrie about 8 weeks behind - 8.30am ever weekday on OSN First and twice again in the day, also get Eastenders on BBC Entertainment, some good American stuff which we get back home - Curb Your Enthusiam (Larry David) Entourage, Deadliest Catch, Family Guy and more....

Mozaic is the sports only channel. The Internet with Qtel I've found is reliable although did have a few teething problems at first and does run at a high speed, (my experience anyway.)

No decent English TV here I'm afraid. In fact the only reason to get TV here is because it's actually cheaper to get Mozaic than just internet alone.

You can get Mozaic which is landline, TV and internet for QR250 per month which equates to about £45. It's only 1 Mbit/s or you can pay an extra QR100 and get 2 Mbit/s instead, but you probably won't notice the difference. The broadband is reasonably reliable but they have a cheek calling it 'broadband' IMO.

I download all the TV and films I want off the net myself. It's the only way if you want to watch anything decent. Even films at the cinema here are censored to prevent you from seeing the evil that is female flesh.

As for mobile, Vodafone is far superior to Qtel.

Oh, dear, I just fell off my chair laughing! Good speed? Reliability? I couldn't even load Youtube!

Mosaic? Is that a sports only thing? Not too worried about football really. I do love my football and go to a lot of matches but I can live without it.

Is the broadband reliable? At £70 a month, I would expect good speeds and reliability!

Try OSN for you T.V and Mosaic if you want the Enlish football. Qtel for the Internet and Phone (expensive though around 70 pound per month and telly 40 pound without movies (not a patch on Sky by the way.)
