now since work (???) & life in doha has already reduced me to a couch potato (a large one at that) & into one who has forgotten the science & art of walking, i will request all others who have managed to retain those precious skills to find it for me !
If they too fail, i will resign to the act of buying a new tv but with a free additional remote (in one of those one on one free promos which run almost the year around) !!!

simple. coz i don need tv remote to watch tv. guys,you might need remote for sat reciever or the decoder. if the tv is oon then that's it...
buy universal remote control in Carrefour that can using for TV, DVD, Satelite, like I did. One remote do it all.
