Summer Activities for Kids

Hiya all.

Does anyone have any ideas what there is to do in Qatar during the HOT summer months, especially for Kids.

Are there any indoor sporting places that still run, or does everthing close during Summer.

I'll have 3 under 6 years at home and need some activites for both their and my sanity.

Have you tried playing board games for kids with them. I am sure they will enjoy it a lot.

they are located in the city centre and open on the weekend....they have a few fun things to do and what is good is that they are free...thought somehow that leads to a big crowd...they have facepainting, sand art, internet activitis...etc

hope u find this useful

Thanks for all the comments.

Also today, when I was out and about, I saw a sign for "The Girls Creativity Centre". I'll give them a call and see what that's all about. Will keep you posted.

I am putting as well my son at the summer program for kids in Starfish Lane.

Don't want to spend the whole summer in malls so what does one do here? I would like to get together with some other moms/kids staying, perhaps do something structured, crafts, music, storytime, whatever but not just a mad running around thing. moms have to participate though. Send me a message if anyone is interested.

I think taking swimming lessons is a great way to spend time during the summer

It's very difficult for children here in the summer.

Other than ice-skating I can't think of much in the indoor activity area.

We usually keep our kids busy for the part of the summer during which they're in Doha with beach/swimming, board games, structured computer/Playstation time, art, music, cooking, water-gun fights and with the guidance of the eldest home-made plays.

Expect to hear "I'm bored" frequently.

I like your style.

It there is nothing there, make something.

Keep with it, Mums can help eachother a lot.

And siblings and Dads.

What about teenagers?

I'll start another thread.

It dun't really matter.

I don't have any kids but there are great things that kids in my home country Egypt do in summer (and in winter):

-Work as assitnaces for mechanics to support their families (mainly in the cities)

-Work as servants in the wealthy people homes, again to support their families (mainly kids from the countryside)

-Playing football in the street (in order to be famous football players someday and support their families in the future)

-Studying (because they failed in previous year exams)
