Summer Activities for Kids
Hiya all.
Does anyone have any ideas what there is to do in Qatar during the HOT summer months, especially for Kids.
Are there any indoor sporting places that still run, or does everthing close during Summer.
I'll have 3 under 6 years at home and need some activites for both their and my sanity.
Ta.
Have you tried playing board games for kids with them. I am sure they will enjoy it a lot.
Hello!
The best option is H2O Swim Club www.h2oswimclub.com
They have so many interesting programms for everyone!!!
As well they still run in the summer programms and
H2O Swim Club is now offering swim programmes at Al Jazeera Academy Sundays to Thursdays between 2:15pm and 3:45pm and Saturdays betwee n 1:00pm and 2:30pm
they are located in the city centre and open on the weekend....they have a few fun things to do and what is good is that they are free...thought somehow that leads to a big crowd...they have facepainting, sand art, internet activitis...etc
hope u find this useful
check the dohadolphins.com web site for details, as they pnly put an email not a phone number their, but i learnt that they stop after the first week of june and don't start again until september!!

do check the girls creativity centre out. i hav an 11 yr old with a consstant "bored" look on her face through out the summer(and mostly otherwise also)! She isnt keen on physical activity but creative stuff might interest her.
Thanks for all the comments.
Also today, when I was out and about, I saw a sign for "The Girls Creativity Centre". I'll give them a call and see what that's all about. Will keep you posted.
the Doha Dolphines offer lessons, but I am not sure if they still run in the summer.
try oasis hotel...
I am putting as well my son at the summer program for kids in Starfish Lane.
At least the will have some fun during the morning playing with other children, call them and check if they still got some spots.
Doha zoo, Landmark play area, Hayat plaza Play area, city center play area, swimming after 5 pm, biking after 5pm, kindergarten from 7.30am to 1.30 pm these are the only escapes for kids....

Swimming lessons sound good.
Where? How? Anything close to Khalifa stadium>
Ta.
Don't want to spend the whole summer in malls so what does one do here? I would like to get together with some other moms/kids staying, perhaps do something structured, crafts, music, storytime, whatever but not just a mad running around thing. moms have to participate though. Send me a message if anyone is interested.
I think taking swimming lessons is a great way to spend time during the summer
It's very difficult for children here in the summer.
Other than ice-skating I can't think of much in the indoor activity area.
We usually keep our kids busy for the part of the summer during which they're in Doha with beach/swimming, board games, structured computer/Playstation time, art, music, cooking, water-gun fights and with the guidance of the eldest home-made plays.
Expect to hear "I'm bored" frequently.
busy bees and starfish lane have a summer program for kids. I am planning to put my son 1 mth in busy bees and 1 mth i starfish lane.
I like your style.
It there is nothing there, make something.
Keep with it, Mums can help eachother a lot.
And siblings and Dads.
What about teenagers?
I'll start another thread.
It dun't really matter.
I don't have any kids but there are great things that kids in my home country Egypt do in summer (and in winter):
-Work as assitnaces for mechanics to support their families (mainly in the cities)
-Work as servants in the wealthy people homes, again to support their families (mainly kids from the countryside)
-Playing football in the street (in order to be famous football players someday and support their families in the future)
-Studying (because they failed in previous year exams)
