Sooo Rude!!

Today I had an extremely unpleasant encounter with a Qatari lady. She almost pushed my daughter down a staircase and when I confronted her she called my daughter "this stupid girl".
I spoke my mind to her but my head is still throbbing with anger. What to do?

By the_eagle• 1 Apr 2010 22:47
the_eagle

Its good you spoke your mind, or it would always bother you.

I have learnt to instinctively protect my kids once I see women wielding large handbags; they don't seem to care that kids are right in front of them and they can hit them. They carry on walking, while you scamper around trying to get the kids off their path!

At least you know when you travel to certain countries your car can be stolen-children are innocents pushing a child out of the way 'cos you are in a hurry should never be excused regardless.

why does everybody keep saying welcome to qatar or to the gulf , so the killing and stealing in other countries is better than just bullying , you know , once in the 90s i went to us for just 2 days and my rented car was stolen . the point is every culture has bad people in it , dont say that all Qatares are bad just coz you met few people who are , however if any body treated you bad then ignore and pretend u didnt hear a thing ....

I will write a stroy of a bad minded Qatari lady, my colleague a filipino lady got her long awaited happy news about her pregnency, when she came down her husband give her a small loving kiss on her forehead because of his happiness, one Qatari lady saw this and shout to them, then she called Police, when Police arrive she talked a lot in Arabic to Police man then when Police man asked to this couple they explained the situation and why he did it, Policemen was good he dont know what to say, he show his hands waive "Wahha" then this Qatari lady realised no action will be taken and she drove her car and go away?!! Can you tell why she respond like this??!!

By nomad.me• 30 Mar 2010 15:54

I think the woman was in a hurry and my daughter was in her way. She pushed her aside to get infront of her and all this happened on top of a staricase. My daughter stumbled but luckily managed to get hold of the railing.

Snessy, I agree with you.

Afrinnabees, we are in their country becasue they need us. I wouldn't turn into a bully but wouldn't tolerate being bullied either.

Khanan, qatari men are generally respectful, but ladies are a totally different story.

so now you've got a lesson better stay away with them, if they are approaching choose another way, in this way they may felt that they are being avoided. avoided because of attitude. be a keen observer if they are around dont get close to them. this is a extreme measure so that this incident will not happen to you again.

in fairness to qataris, i've met a lot of qataris with the best attitude. i've met a lot of qataris with so pleasing personality. but it will not justify that all of them are the same and vice versa.

it seems that they are (those who did that to you)not happy to see a growing number of expat in their country, perhaps they have some reason, we dont know...looks like they are irritated....

Well next time any Qatari or any Muslim for that matter tells you its MY COUNTRY, tell them "The Earth Belongs To Allah" ( الأرض لله)

Probably they may reflect.

Abd Shuraib al-Adawi reported

The prophet of Allah said ...and he who believes in Allah and the Hereafter should say something good or keep quiet.

Sahi Muslim Book 18, Number 4286

sorry to hear about hear your experience. Godd that your child is safe.

I had almost spent my life here in Qatar and I can for sure tell you that the good, soft-hearted Qataries out number the rude ones.

and I admit too, that rudest I come across was a Qatari lady who bullied me for a mistake of her.

take a deep breath and forget.
