Schooling - Child care - nanny

I have a question about finding a work / life/ child care balance.

Does anyone know of International schools (US / Canadian curriculum) for Kindergarten year 1 that's open until 4-5 pm or provide after school hours care? Do schools provide transportation from school to home?

Preferably near Qatar University area.

How reliable are nannies? How long should we wait before we can hire nannies? If I am looking for someone part time say 1-5pm, could we hire someone from within Doha? How soon do these things happen.

Are western expats allowed to bring their parents for help with kids care in Qatar? Are there any restrictions?

I feel family members are better than maids and nannies.

Sorry for a number of questions, but I believe these questions go thru every expats mind.

Thanks

Thank you Humbles. I really appreciate your reply. How about being able to employ (hire ) a driver for family?

I guess, what I am trying to ask is that, can only companies / businesses hire drivers or individuals / families can also employ drivers full - time.

Working is not just about money, its about career development as well. If one does not work, there is no career development. For some regulated professions, a break in career can be difficult to get back to as recency in clinical practice is important.

Work life balance ?

It sounds like you and your wife want to both work to make money and use your parents to babysit the kids.
