Preschool or Kindergarten options in Doha

xtian001
By xtian001

I have a 2 and a 7 month daughter who we intend to enter into a preschool/kindergarten so just as she won't get bored at home. I'm not thinking of the big schools like QIS or Doha School but a smaller group which has english as it's main language. Any ideas of such Kindergarten or Preschools and their contact numbers?

thanks!

regards,
Xtian

hey Guys i really don't know about a good Kindergarten. As i said before. TEK hires fake teachers. I guess they have qualified personel but also peolpe without teaching experience. i just cannot trust my kids with them becasue if something happens who will be responsible.

Anyone knows anything about this?

Which Kinder do you recommend?

By Briton68• 2 Apr 2011 09:10

Hi everybody, I tried to enroll my kids to TEK kindergarten but then i found out that most of the teachers are NOT teachers. they do not hold a teaching degree nor are sponsor by the school.

Does anyone knows anything about this? is this happening in everyplace here in Doha?

It is really disppointing to know our kids are going to a kindergarten which has not qualified personel and we trust them with our kids.

Who will be reponsible if something happens?

I send a letter to SEC (Supreme Education Council) but they haven't reply.

money is not an issue when we are talking about our kids education, but what education if they are with people we don't know who they are, where ther are coming from.

Really I strongly recommend step one International school. Step one International school. It is a British school in al hilal area, offers strong English curriculum and strong Arabic & Islamic studies as well. Their system is different, kids there should move from room to room according to the curriculum subjects. Trust me no boring in their educational methods. English teachers are highly qualified Native English speakers. I forget to tell you that they offering 25% opening discount for their new primary section on the first 100 kids registered in the school. School building is near Tadamon roundabout, kindergarten building near Mall roundabout for more info call 4666313 or 4666717 from 7:00 to 2:30 Sunday to Thursday. Thanks

Yes I was happy with the school, by the time he left CESK he knows his number, alpabhet, simple arabic and writing letters. Not bad hey?

There are several good nursery schools with English as the primary language around Doha. My son when he was preschool age attended Mulberry Bush and then Doha English Speaking Kindergarten. A good friend of mine owned and ran these places but I don't think she still has Mulberry Bush. DESK was good though, my son enjoyed getting out of the house and making his own friends there. It's been a few years so I don't know about any of the teachers, etc that might still be there, or if my friend Louise Al Jaidah still owns the place, but you can call and find out. Good luck!
