Pet friendly Accommodation
By gangwar.vineet •
Hi Friends,
Does anyone know about any compound/appartments/socities which are pet friendly as i am going to move to qatar and will be staying there with my wife and 2 dogs ( Labradors ) so if any one can suggest me best place to live with pets in Doha, will be a great help.
Thanks in advance
Condition of news papers is same all over the world i suppose but it seems worse in middle east. btw do u have any reference for 2 or 3 bedroom apartment/villa in that region.
Sorry for the triple post but I can't see how to edit the second and third out
The fact they weren't reported in the local media would not be unusual. Newspapers are censored in Qatar. So whether the reports are authentic or not is up for discussion.

These pit bull story are quite scary but as there is no authenticity in this, i wont mind ignoring that but would suggest other dog owners to go there with some safety
As i live with my wife and 2 dogs, i think 5 bed villas will be quite big for me, i am looking for something like 2-3 bedroom home.

As none of these are reported in local media (and wouldn't be probably as it wouldn't be recognized as important) I cannot verify myself.
However, I can verify that there are people who let their dogs off leash who can't control them properly (the dog is trained to come on command) whose animals will harass other dogs in attempts to play. These are also people who fail to clean up after their dogs (and I recognize these are not you and your friends) as the tide will take care of the dirty deed.
They're just as bad as those who leave fully loaded diapers on the sand IMHO
10,000 per calendar month for 5 bed villa which I understand is a very cheap in comparison to Doha. I guess you have to chose what's important for your particular family set up, for me with 3 kids and two dogs, this area is ideal. I would imagine there are far more restrictions in Doha and more people around who live in fear of dogs rather than here where there's open land and less people around. This month for example its Ramadam, there is no one in sight at all and the beach here is vast.
Thanks friends for this information, may i know what would be the rent of apartments or villa in the compounds there in Al wakra
None of my neighbours have heard about this, the beaches where we are, are empty most of the time and flat, we are responsible dog owners and can also easily see if anyone else is on the beach and put them on a leash.
Be aware in Wakra there have been boys with pitbulls in the past who have set them on loose pet dogs. Don't want to alarm you but be aware, and carry a piece of rebar.
Hi, We are in Al Wakra on a compound of 18 villa's with 6 dogs between us, about to be 8 when my two pedigrees fly out tomorrow. The reason why I chose here is because I've heard a lot of Arabs don't like dogs, dogs also have to be kept on a lead. Al Wakra is next to the beach so we are not disturbed, I don't want to upset the locals but I want my dogs to have a life as well so if my neighbours see people on the beach we just put the leashes back on and be considerate. Two of my neighbours run dog boarding companies so very handy knowing they are well cared for even in your own villa whilst you are away. Villa's are 5 bed but not sure if any free atm, call Ruth 33190800 to see if any are free or coming up, good luck!
