Moving to Qatar

Hi there I am a newbie to this forum.

My husband and I are seriously considering a move to Qatar for my husbands work (aviation). We are going to be visiting Qatar in March. Can someone please comment on what life is like living in Doha in regards to social life, British primary schools, etc. We have one daughter who is just about to start school. Thankyou, Mrs S

When are you coming ?

There is many international schools in Qatar.

English ,Canadian, American, French,German etc schools.

I'm a native Qatari. I don't know about the social life of foreign people in Qatar. Yet, I know that Qatari people are very friendly, welcoming, generous. You may feel a little scared from ladies that covering their faces around the country, but they are really kind .There are many nice places around Doha, the capital of Qatar. Many hotels with nice gyms and spas. You many meet people and make friends there. I recommend you to go to desert and camp there for a night or two; of course not in Summer. You can also have a job if you are good in English and be a tutor . Tutors make good money here. That's all I have in my mind for now. You can ask if you have concern about something ; you are welcome.

Haha yes plenty of sheep, cows, greenery and kiwis (I'm a Brit)! NZ is beautiful, but it will be nice to be closer to home and to experience life in the ME!

You could try also asking about schools on the expatwoman.com website (Qatar page) - I have no direct knowledge myself but believe that any of the desirable schools have waiting lists and it would be best to get her on one ASAP
