Ministry of Interior announce more service

One must admit and appreciate the drastic transformation of procedures required by Ministry of Interior for their service. Within less than 5 yrs, this organization have used every possible technology and eliminated unnecessary bureaucracy in their work flow. Good Job !!

Here is the latest from today's gulf times newspaper:

The Immigration Department plans to complete medical tests
and fingerprinting of new-comers to the state before they leave the airport itself. The plan, outlined at a seminar in Doha yesterday, will be implemented when the new Doha International Airport opens.

That might be bad news for QL visit count, as many questions and discussions are related to this issue.

great idea. Can make necessary arrangements to control while coming from Arrival who r new comers or RP holders then arrange accordingly. Even visitors can be undergone by finger print which will reduce any kind of forgery or robery.

if m not wrong, they haven't reduced but extended the visit visa limit from 6months upto 3 years, right...

on the other hand, it could be under observation but not implemented... some are getting extension of upto 8 months in lieu of family visit visas...

I don't think it's done to eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy, but rather to eliminate penetration of unnecessary diseases into Qatar and to keep under control potentially criminal elements, from their first minutes in Qatar :):)

Ministry has reduced the renewal limit of family visit visa to 3 months from 6 months.Mainly parents / mother or father / sister can come with this facility.

Not sure why they did it.This was never anounced.

Getting visa is difficult for parents and some months before extending for 6 months was easy.

I was expecting with this vast development Visa rules will get relaxed but they are becoming difficult day by day. Sad.

Mr M.

On the contrary, this has been appreciated. The work burden and the pressure on the immigration department is tremendous,so this will ease a lot of it.I think it's a good improvement.
