Medical Card
My Hamad Medical Card expired last month and I've just got a new one via my husband's employer. Next to "Nationality" the card says "VG. ISL.B" which I assume means "British Virgin Isles". (The old card just had "BVI" on it and I had no idea that this related to nationality.) I've never been to the British Virgin Isles. I'm British, from England. So, I'm thinking that the idiot who entered the information into the computer couldn't find "British" as an option for nationality and chose the closest thing. "British" probably isn't there, but "United Kingdom" probably is. Is anyone else in this situation?
The question is, do I let it stand or do I try and get them to fix it? My RP is OK, it says "UK".
Fruthermore, there's a chip in the new card. What information does it carry and how can I trust it to be correct?
In 5 years we have yet to use our medical cards. If you do need it, they will just check to make sure you have it, they won't care about your nationality.
Ask them about their reasons to write "VG"...., and try to fix it.
