impossible.

AT&T signed a contract with Qtel and provides Qtel's background services (just as it does with Batelco). The government would never authorize the license to allow them to compete due to conflict of interest.

There are 2 companies who have been allowed to compete for licenses and one more spot which isn't filled.

Vodafone will never open in the middle east imo.

that 2 companies would be chosen amongst 6 -7 companies who gave their bids for the telecom/mobile services for Qatar.

if they r gonna come to qatar obviously they will make improvements and compete with qtel which I dont think is too hard. As for etisalat coming here, i hope not as they have no extra services as of now in UAE and charge the same amount so. We need a competitive company like Vodafone, Airtel or Verizon to come here. In the US verizon has really good services at ok prices.

AT&T is more expebsive than Q-Tel and they just provide the same service.
