We have a rising Kindergardener and need feedback on the American School of Qatar.

In your opinion, how would you rate its overall performance in academics as well as parental involvement, socialization, discipline, dress code, etc.?

Thank you for all of your assistance.

HA! I meant to say that my kids are average students in an American PUBLIC school. They have never been to a private school but after looking at the website of the American School of Doha things don't seem to differ much. But I'm not sure I can tell a LOT from a website either.

My kids only know English, so yes that should be fine! LOL We have never lived anywhere but the U.S., and I am VERY excited about the possibility of going to Qatar. I just want to make sure I don't screw anything up! I will be leaving a very good job here, so my fiance can pursue his career, we can save money, experience new places and cultures, etc.

Thank you so much! I seem to get mixed feedback when reading forums here, but I think it is because so many people are coming from so many different countries!

I would love to talk to more people in a situation similar to mine. If anyone is interested then please let me know!

THANKS AGAIN!

Adrienne :)

I don't think you'll have a problem enrolling your kids into American School of Doha because they are American and if the company is paying for all the tuition fees then you should be alright. Assessment test is required only to know your kids English level and if they can catch up with the dialect. I can't see somehow that you should worry about that as it is your kids mother's tongue. My kids are British and they go to a Doha English Speaking School which is British Curriculum. Before DESS we came from Saudi and they Studied in an American School. I think their Curriculum are pretty much the same apart from History. The British has to know United Kingdom's history and American has to know American history. that's all it was.

Don't worry too much it's be peaceful here!!!

Thanks! I previously found some of that info but not all of it.

I believe my sponsor WILL pay the other fees (except maybe the application), but I will find that out later. So far, they say "ALL TUITION AND FEES WILL BE PAID".

I am wondering if anyone has applied or attended some of these schools. We are American, and my kids are now average students in an American private school.

How difficult is it to get accepted? If you have attended or work at this school or know someone that does, that is the information I am looking for. I am happy to communicate in private if preferred.

Thanks again!

I'm curious too. I've been offered a position there and I have a 14 year old (going into grade 10) and an 11 year old (ging into grade 7) here in Canada. Any impressions on schools would be helpful.
