How will your family celebrate CHRISTMAS?

Well, Christmas Day is just around the corner (this coming Thursday, to be exact) and I guess most if not all of us had sent out their holiday greeting cards to friends and families, sent out the presents (and remittances) and/or in full blast attending or had attended Christmas parties by companies, cliques, and friends.

Most of the QLers I know are either back home(in their countries) already to celebrate the YULETIDE with their families, others preparing for the big day and some of us might/may be working on Jesus' birthday...

Tell us, please...what are your plans on Christmas Day? Or where would you be?

Christmas in our home has always been so special. This year, being in Doha, it will be very different. We will celebrate just like we normally do however all of our family members will not be visiting or eating the Christmas meal here at our house. They are back in the US either covered with snow or enjoying the break from the heat.

We have been invited to spend our Christmas Eve with some friends having a bbq and on Christmas Day we will have dinner with other friends and family members after we have breakfast and open gifts at our home.

It's not the same, but believe me- it is just great to be healthy and happy right where I am right now.

MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS

HAPPY, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL YA'LL!!!!

You're only as happy as you set your mind to be!

so we got a long holiday vacation.

2009 Ramadan would be a month earlier than Ramadan 2008 so there would be a bigger gap :-)

Nicole-b has actually summarised all of the day and the things that one should do in a superb way...All that she mentioned is quite true and pretty sufficient to enjoy the day in sharing happiness with yourself, your family and spreading a bit of prayers to the ones not able to be home, not able to be with family and to those not able to celebrate Christmas as such!!!

Cheers to all who are celebrating, and Prayers to who arent able to!

Cheers and I couldn't resist to stop at the place where you mentioned FEASTY LUNCH, so I would expect my invite to join for lunch and join for prayers and carols... :P

Above all, Merry Christmas to you, your family, your baby and the rest as well...!!! Hope you have a good one!

Timtan, thank you for being respectful of our Religious Holiday!

I would like to tell you that Christmas celebration is never ever a waste of time.

It is the season where family gather together and share the joy of LOVE! For Christ was born due to God's unconditional love for us!

It is the season of giving, of sharing, of praying and rejoicing...it is not about getting drunk or getting fat, it is a Holy-Day!

Yes, I will be celebrating this Christmas with my husband and baby daughter (it is her first Christmas, and I have a lot to thank God for); my sister and my father will be there too. There will be gifts to exchange and open under the tree; a symbol of giving (read the original story of Santa Clause - i.e. St. Nicolas - for the meaning is deeper than just "having fun" and opening presents ;)

Definitely, we will be attending Mass prayers. I pray for all the deprived children who won't be able to celebrate this season. I pray for the poor families who have difficulty preparing a simple meal to feed the members this Holiday. I pray for those who have recently lost beloved ones and will feel lonely, sad, and hard to celebrate.

Back home, I know that the rest of my family have prepared gifts to donate to orphanages. I wish we had this opportunity open for us here in Qatar.

And yes, we will all gather for a feasty lunch at home, eating, laughing, enjoying each others company while Christmas hymns and carols is playing in the background. :)

Merry Christmas to all! May the Christmas Spirit fill your hearts with Good Tidings and Joy!

i'll be taking 1 day leave on thursday. maybe we'll be in my sister-in-law's house on xmas eve. i can't throw a party now coz i'm on my 8th month of preganancy. it's difficult for me to prepare & cook.

on friday, the 26th, i will invite few friends for lunch ( they are our college friends who presently work here) but it will be a small get together only. maybe around 10 people (including their children).

& maybe on the night of the 25th, my husband, my daughter & i will have dinner in one of the hotels here.

merry christmas & a happy new year!!!

I am preparing a medium sized feast on christmas day. Its been a long, long time since I have don't so. I pretty excited about having family and friends attend. But, With all the meal and decoration planning I can't seem to keep my mind off the boxing day sale! I have already planned my rout to the stores out and which items I will buy. I am more stressed about getting to store before others than I am about christmas! lol

I am always excited to go to sleep! In anticipation of the new experience I will find awaiting me.
