House Maid Visas rejected for Indian Expats

Did you notice that house maid visas are getting rejected for indian expatriates. I dont know why my request was rejected. I dont think it is because of Salary reasons. One of the manpower agency was saying now they are giving house maid visa only for working couples. If your wife is not working, then its difficult to get the house maid visa... But its sad and too difficult for my consious to digest why this injustice is only for indian expatriates...Please share your experiences and views on this.

It is true. To get the maid visa, both has to have job. May be its not written anywhere, but that's the fact. We tried couples of times before we got approved and I am working mom.

But, as your wife not working, it is easier for you to find part time maid, which is easily to manage.

i didnt say this is the specific reason, could be in either way, coz many indians are not getting family visas now-a-days even their papers are genuine.....

QS...you may be right. But, they specifically asked about my wife's job and salary certificate. And, one of a friend's application was rejected for a reason that his wife is unemployed. He arranged a meeting with the higher authorities and got it done.

one of the reason indians has reached max of their quota fixed... so immigration law seems strict toward indian visas...

your agent was right. But i would put it in different way. It's not becuase "your wife is not working", but because YOU have already unemployed wife under your sponsorship. Then may be you have kids, who are also your dependants, i.e under your sponsorship. You cannot sponsor unlimited number of people. Probably in Labour Dept. they decided for your income level you sponosr enough people, that is it.

s_isale...they asked for my wife's salary certificate when I applied for the Maid's Visa. Gave me the same reason when I asked.

there is no rule which says only working couples can sponsor a maid.

Its true that only a working couple can have a Maid's Visa.....there have been cases where its been awarded on meeting through an appointment with the "Mudeer" of Labor Office.

Don't feel singled out, many expats have had maid's visas rejected. Keep trying.
