Help with After-School Care

WT
By WT

Hi,

We are a Singaporean family recently relocated to Doha due to work.  Our 3 year-old child has just got accepted into Doha Montessori, and will be starting class this September 08.

Both my husband and I work till 5pm and the school ends at 12pm.  We are therefore looking for help with after-school care for our kid.

We stay in Al Sadd, near Hamad Hospital and Regency Travel.  It would be great if we can find mums staying in Al Sadd with kid(s) studying in Montessori who can help with the after-school care of our child.  Pls pass the word around and get in touch with us if you are able to help or know someone who can.  Thanks in advance.

WT, I happen to know a Filipino lady who does part-time babysitting. We only get her to do our housecleaning but she's currently also babysitting for an American family. She's reliable and so far we've nothing to complain. I'm not sure about her schedule but if you're interested, just PM me for her no.

Yes, we are going to have the same problem next year when my daughter goes to school. Both working parents that finish later than the schools close. Are there any afterschool clubs, preferably that can pick the child up? Wow do I see a gap in the market here??

Thanks for the info.

Think my posting was not too clear...

Actually, we're looking more for a part-time babysitter who will take care of our kid after her class in her home till we get off work, and we will pick up from her place after work...  I suppose the ideal arrangement would be mums with kids studying in the same school (Montessori) and staying near our place too (Al Sadd) 'cos Montessori does not have a school bus system.

Pls let us know if you know of anyone who can help.  Thanks in advance.

the only solution is get the full time maid and sort something out to pick the kids up to fetch it home.
