Fly & Stay: Enjoy Doha during Shop Qatar Festival

The Qatar Tourism Authority has announced the launch of a new shopping festival called ‘Shop Qatar’ to attract tourists from the region and all over the world.

Tourists arriving in Qatar during the festival will get to enjoy attractive travel packages in association with Qatar Airways and several major hotels.

Any flights to Qatar from within the GCC region booked on Qatar Airways for the period between 7 January and 7 February will be available with a 25% discount. In addition, members of Qatar Airways' Privilege Club will receive double Q-miles on their booking during Shop Qatar.

Qatar Tourism Authority has also partnered with Expedia.com to allow visitors to enjoy a range of travel and accommodation packages. Tourists can indulge in the best-in-class, luxurious hotels while experiencing a new tradition of shopping in Qatar.

New transit visa for tourists

Qatar's transit visa allows passengers with a minimum transit time of five hours in Hamad International Airport, to stay in Qatar for up to 96 hours (four days), without the requirement to apply ahead of time for an entry visa.

Previously, the transit visa scheme allowed travellers with a minimum layover of eight hours to spend a maximum of 48 hours (two days) in Qatar. This means more shopping, more rewards and more fun during the festival.
