Fireworks

Hey there - I was wondering of anyone knew if there would be any fireworks anywhere this evening for New Year - we are spending a relatively quiet night in with the family but wondered of it would be worth making it up to the roof at midnight eg - if any hotels were doing fireworks that we may be able to see from the Al Sadd area

Thanks in advance

Yeah, it's late to celebrate it but it's worth celebrating it with people important to you than celebrate on time alone.Right? Cheers!

Did you not notice that Qatar kept the lighting for the Nationals Day until now. So I guess even though officially Qatar is not celebrating New Year Arrival by quietly they are acknowledging it :)

Well - there were no fireworks - but that was ok - we had the family all together, although our littlest fell asleep about 3 mins before midnight! lol! A nice calm, peaceful and happy new year welcome to 2012! May it just continue! :-)

In my case, I intend to experience Scotland's HOGMANY next year as a plain housewife :)

ismailerum - really??!! Well I never knew that - do I presume everyone needs to get permission for fireworks here in Qatar? Not that I am planning any firework event - just curious!

Haroon - we are together with the family this evening - we have family over from the UK visiting - just thought that in case something would be lighting up the midnight sky I wanted to know in advance rather than mad dash up the building at midnight to show the kids! :-)

Happy new year guys!
