Feedback on these schools...
By lanzindoha •
Hi there!
My little darling will be in 1st grade next school yr so as early as now I am scouting for good sch (Brit or American curriculum). I have been going through some schools' website but I would like to know some first hand experience. There's not much schools review that I can read online.
Anyone of you send your kids particularly to ACS Doha International Sch, Newton International Sch Lagoon, Qatar International School, Compass Int'l Sch? How's the academics of your kids, the teachers, school facilities and extra curricular activities, etc.
Your comments will be very much appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you HolaQatar and mperre for the feedback.
Doha College is awesome. Extra-curricular activities included orchestra (we're talking violins, cellos, french horns - the works). A peripatetic music programme with dedicated instrumental teachers that come in and teach in dedicated practice rooms. The college also has a very good outsourced sports programme. I hear even Qatari royalty attend :-)
We had a really bad experience with Compass. They are very money oriented and standards of teaching and other facilities on campus are not great compared to what they charge (the tuition fees of Compass is amongst highest in Qatar). We have moved our kids now to an American school and kids are much happier since the move. I would strongly recommend ACS Doha or ASD if you can get your kids in. Chao!
