hi QL people, just want to ask..if anyone here undergo or know the procedure in divorce, im from Philippines & he is from Jordan..we got married in my country but he file for a divorce here in Qatar (got married to his 2nd wife-same nationality 2009), court send me a hearing 2x & never go coz im thinking they will be bias & i cant pay a lawyer for my own...i dont have against the divorce & i dont want anything even a support for my 8 year old son, im planning to manage it alone (son here in doha too )but friends advised me to ask for financial support since its my son's right. he was giving us 4k & now he only to pay for our studio house (QR 2500) nothing more coz he is now having a hard time to budget his money with maid, 2 daughters & 3 bedrooms apartment in compound while im just having 4500 salary & dropping my son in daycare, waiting for me 10 hours till i finish my work...
MY QUESTION IS:
1) is doha court equal?
2)how much is the lawyer here in-case.
3)asked our embassy but they said since we got married in Philippines, our marriage is bind by our law not law in Qatar so we have to go home & file there..so meaning this divorce he filed will not be acknowledge in my country..is it true?
4.)in case i will ask for a child support, can i ask one time big time amount coz i dont want to contact him each year just to give cheque for the rent of our house, or i dont want to see a bank transfer to my account from him, remembering all the bad things / trauma he did to us every month, or maybe he will say that, he cant support him anymore coz he have another child again & his budget cant fit anymore...

thanks for advance info...GOD bless all

first of all, dont say anything if u dont know the whole story or u dont know me at all...he respect me the way the lady should be respect, never we had premarital sex for 5 years thats why i trusted & love him so much..we got married coz he proved that he loves me & he is different BUT one thing i forgot, he cant dis-obey his family / tradition...family really wants to marry his neighbor & i cant take anymore what they are saying about my race so much better for me to get divorce & not take even single riyal from him...proving NOT ALL FINGERS ARE THE SAME

Why most of the Filipina wanted to marry other nationalities? Cguro iniisip mo yayaman ka sa kanila anoh!!!Dmo maisip n mas lalo kang mahihirapan s mga ibang lahi, D cla tumatagal s nagiging asawa nila db. pro pag pinay pinakain at binigyan ng lod tas nabilhan ng damit ok n lahat.

I may not give you the right answer but you have my sympathy for what had happened.. With respect to you, let your experienced be a lesson to other who dares to cross the boundary of culture differences.. It is a big leap and sacrifices. It is not like hot coffee that if you get burn so can easily spit it out.. marriage is a commitment! & for others it means forever.. that's why both of you took the vow..so before you decide to jump onto it make it sure your other behalf is 100% willing to honor the commitment, otherwise it will be come just a common stats of broken marriage due complications of unacceptable cultural differences and forever both of you will bear the hardship of consequences. Despite of that, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. life must go on..
