Adoptions by British expatriates?
Has anyone been through this process or knows someone who has?
If you're living in your home country, I guess the process is more straightforward, but how does it work if you're a national of country X, living and working in country Y and considering adopting a child from country Z?
Back home in England, it would involve assessments by social services (and GP I think), but would it involve flying British authorities out here for an assessment (if the child would eventually be granted a British passport)? Or would it involve an assessment by Qatari authorities?
Does anyone know how intercountry adoptions work when the adopting parent is an expat living and working away from home?
Please feel free to PM me with replies.
Thanks
Can I adapt a Qatari child? There must be some orphans out there.
A friend of mine has recently adapted two kids of his decesed brother/sister-in-law.
They are in Qatar now. Don't know the details but can find out.
Madonna is an another good candidate to answer this.
Living in UK having US passports and adopting Malawi child!
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie can answer this better....LOL.
