Tap water and sodium
Somebody told my wife there is sodium in the tap water, and that drinking it will destroy your kidneys. To me, this sounds like a NRR (New Resident Rumor).
Recent reports indicate that the water is pretty good.

However, posters to this forum indicate that there is sediment, and that compound water tanks may be nasty.
Does anyone have any sort of empirical proof that there is an unusually high level of sodium in the water?
It's true tap water contains sodium as chloride. And again it's true it can harm kidneys IF YOU HAVE KIDNEY DISEASE.Otherwise okay.Another thing is I've read in a local news paper that Qatar has the purest water in the world!Purer than many bottled water!!Is it true?
The funny thing about NaCL is that you can taste it!

Thirty one years. You've seen this nation grow.
iam drinking water since 31 years in qatar..see iam still alive
Those are A/C units? I thought they were water distillation devices.
So, no empirical evidence of excessive sodium. Good to know.
I drink tap water but use a Brita water filter to filter it. I think the only problem with the water is that the residential storage tanks are a bit dodgy.
drinking water without sodium is like drinking softdrinks without sugar.
am wondering if sodium is helpful to keep the dandruff at bay .....
