on what visa you arrived to Qatar
if you are on business visa you can drive on international driving license.check with rent a car company it has to be obtain from your home country.
second you can go to traffic dept and get one temporary license for one month.
in case if your are on work visa you can get 3 month temporary license once your residence permit is done you will get permanent license.

car rental companies need an International driving license and the paper document that is sent with your UK one. If you do not have your RP we were told that yes you can have a temporary one but only for one month. Am sure the story changes depending on who you speak to but that was what we were told at the Madinat Khalifa office.

yes of course,uk driving lisence is valid in qatar,but go to traffic department in madina khlifa.they will issue you a driving licence.if you do not have RP then they will give you temporay driving licence by which you can drive as well.ask your HR may help you more about this
You need an International Driving Permit to drive.
but u don't need a licence in European Union countries.
It is not the license , it is you who will be driving.
You can drive, but the difference you might be aware is here we drive on the right hand.
