Former UN official says climate report will shock nations into action

'THE next United Nations climate report will "scare the wits out of everyone" and should provide the impetus needed for the world to finally sign an agreement to tackle global warming, the former head of the UN negotiations said.'

The whole debate on climate change is based on scare tactics, that why no one believes it!

Funny people here, when they see images like this http://qatarliving.com/node/6440376 , they go "Nice.. beautiful.. Amazing..etc etc..", nobody notices the sheer waste of energy and when a thread like this comes along, everyone is a "Go Green" activist...

Like I said in my first comment, Pfft...

Shock the nations into taking the imperative crucial actions that is, before it is too late! As of now we can see a large scale lax attitude towards global warming and other environmental hazards, with a lot of ignorance prevailing.

Education is a key of course, that and stricter laws being enforced on both the corporate sectors and the general public too.

in educating the public instead of shoving consumerism down our throats ad nauseam.

But then again by doing so - the whole economic system must be called into question. Not good for the coprorate "news" outlet's bottom line!!

I was there today in FSDL. Everything is still voluntary there are no mandatory rules yet to save the planet. Hoping COP18 may bring some good results.
