If there had been any sexual assault, it would have been much easily proven by DNA testing.

It is still good that the murderer was caught and let us hope that he be punished for the heinous crime he perpetrated.

"Either heavens, by lightning strike the murderer dead, or, earth, gape open wide and eat him quick."

I am sure that he saw the opportunity to steal. What i found strange was the comment - "he decided to kill the woman after he went to their house for the first time"

You might decide to steal things, but deciding to murder a stranger .....

I don't understand why that lady opened her door when he visited next time while she was alone. Strangers are always strangers.

brite, he might have gone there to check the possibility of planning a robbery.

Back in our own countries we would never do things like this. Letting in strangers when alone at home. Why people do such careless actions around these countries, is simply cos we are so used to such crimes not being committed, or rather not as widespread, and assume people are too scared to do such things. Well..low crime dosen't mean no crime!

We may miss out on the rare opportunity to serve a really needy blessed soul from among the strangers looking for a sip of water or one time meals ..

If one chose not to entertain a stranger ..

And a grave warning to many of us expats who are in a habit of selling our furniture and appliances whenever we shift homes and/or buy new stuff, etc.

We get lulled into that false sense of security, and in the zeal to sell off our belongings, forget those childhood lessons our parents taught us about not letting strangers into our homes.

Sad indeed.

Tragic case. Find it strange that the guy comes to buy an appliance but in his confession says he's broke and in debt.

He also says that "he decided to kill the woman after he went to their house for the first time"

Anyway, as the policeman said - “The public, especially women if they are alone or with small children, should not allow strangers into their house even if they met that stranger once or twice,”
